Deana and I began working with women healing from abusive relationships, and along the way, we’ve been deeply moved—and heartbroken—by how many have been silently suffering, especially Christian women. Many have battled shame and guilt, staying in abusive marriages because they believed it was what God required of them—to stay, submit, and be obedient.Over time, these women became internally bruised and broken, often walking away from the church entirely, feeling it was responsible for their pain. The truth is, it’s not “the Church” as the body of Christ that caused this harm—it’s people within the church who misunderstood, misapplied, or misrepresented God’s Word.Our passion is to help the Christian community understand the reality of staying in abusive relationships, to clarify what abuse is (and is not), and to walk beside women as they heal. We want them to know that healing in Christ is the ultimate path to true restoration—and that finding a healthy, loving church family can be part of rebuilding a new life in His arms.That’s why we’re so excited about ActsSocial. For women who have been scrolling through other social media platforms and feeling even more discouraged or anxious, this will be a safe, hope-filled space to invest their time and energy. We believe this platform will be a lifeline for many, offering connection, encouragement, and truth in a community that understands.
