It is a user-powered wireless network for providing affordable home and business Internet, at multi-gigabit speeds. About the Role: We’re looking for an awesome person to become the heartbeat of our community. You’ll be running our Discord, creating a welcoming, buzzing space where people connect, share, and stay excited about what we’re building. Think of yourself as part party host, part guide, part cheerleader — all rolled into one. What You’ll Be Doing: Community Engagement & Moderation: Manage and grow our Discord server — organize channels, manage roles, and maintain a positive atmosphereEngage with users daily: answer questions, initiate conversations, share updates, and keep the space lively and supportiveModerate discussions with a balanced approach, ensuring a friendly and safe environment Community Events & Activations: Plan and execute community events such as AMAs, contests, launch celebrations, and casual hangoutsCollaborate with internal teams to align events with product launches and updatesFoster grassroots initiatives and community-led campaigns to increase engagement Ecosystem Building & Partnerships: Develop and manage ambassador programs to empower community leaders and advocatesBuild strategic relationships with developers, creators, and thought leaders in relevant industriesChampion the open-source spirit and encourage contributions to our platform and documentation Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to share updates, gather feedback, and integrate community insights into product developmentCoordinate with Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure community needs are addressed Community Growth & Retention: Define key goals and KPIs for community health, engagement, and growthAnalyze community metrics to assess the effectiveness of engagement strategies and make data-driven improvements What You Bring: A passion for people and building inclusive communitiesExperience in organizing and executing online and offline community eventsStrong understanding of community dynamics and the ability to foster engagementProficiency in managing community platforms, particularly DiscordExcellent communication skills and a sense of humorProactive, creative, and open to trying new approachesAbility to listen to community feedback and act on itExperience with Discord Bonus Points If: You have experience managing ambassador programsYou've worked in tech, startups, or industries where community engagement is keyYou have basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva)You're familiar with tools like X, Reddit, and LinkedIn Work Hours & Compensation: Full Time, Monday-Friday60,000-80,000/yr, depending on experience
