More than 200 people from across Venezuela gathered Sept. 17–21 for the 35th National Meeting of the Evangelical Prison Ministry, an annual event focused on worship, fellowship and coordination of prison outreach efforts.
The gathering took place at the “Mi Aventura” camp in Camatagua, Aragua state, and included participants from at least nine states, according to the Evangelical Council of Venezuela (CEV). Attendees ranged from children and youth to adults involved in prison ministry.
Organized by María Quiroz, director of the Evangelical Prison Ministry, along with CEV board member María Teresa Amariscua and a team of coordinators, the meeting highlighted the ministry’s ongoing work in Venezuela’s prison system.
Over five days, the program featured sermons, testimonies, coordination meetings, volunteer recognition and the distribution of Bibles. Worship services and times of praise were central, and the Lord’s Supper was celebrated on Sunday. Recreational activities, including talent nights, sports and activities at the pool, were also included, with a dedicated children’s ministry offering special programs.
The event concluded with a commemoration of the anniversary of the Evangelical Prison Ministry in Aragua state, celebrated through a fellowship gathering.
Now in its 35th edition, the national meeting reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to service and accompaniment in prison contexts, with organizers emphasizing unity and spiritual renewal among volunteers and participants.
