Ronald D. (Ron) Farris maintains a statewide and regional law and governmental relations practice through Farris Law Group, PLLC. He is a frequent speaker on a broad range of topics relating to real estate, including the Mississippi Development Authority and the International Council of Shopping Centers, which he served as Government Relations Director for the eleven states making up ICSC’s Southern Division.  His broad experience over more than 37 years has enabled him to establish close working relationships with national, state and local leaders and staff, as well as business leaders across the state.

Ron centers his law practice on the full range of issues relating to real estate, including ownership and title, sale and purchase, easements and servitudes, residential and commercial development, construction and litigation.  He also handles business and entity formation, contracting and leasing, and dispute resolution and dissolution.  Representing national, regional and local retailers, developers, land owners, brokers, financial institutions and businesses, as well as governmental entities, Ron has been an integral team member on projects including shopping malls, strip centers, big box retail, hospitals, clinics, special medical facilities, office and professional developments, redevelopment projects and residential development and subdivisions.  He regularly secures necessary approvals at all governmental levels essential to development projects, zoning changes and permits from local and state governments, as well as unique public-private partnerships between governmental entities and developers to build and fund infrastructure, such as tax increment financing and public improvement districts.  He regularly handles all manner of real estate related litigation in federal and state courts.  Ron’s clients include the Mississippi Association of REALTORS® and MLS United, LLC, which he serves as General Counsel, and multiple REALTOR® associations, brokers, developers and businesses across Mississippi and out-of-state companies doing business in Mississippi.
