Jesus is the eternal perpetual promised Sabbath rest to the people of God ... Hebrews 6Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience, 7God again set a certain day, calling it “Today.” This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” d

        Today's Devotion:
        "MYSTERY REVEALED"

Boy: MOM! You can't keep me in
        my room; that's kidnapping!
        Mom: So call the police!
Boy: But you took my cell phone!
        Mom: EXACTLY!.

        SCRIPTURE
        Col. 1:26-27
        26 Even the mystery which
hath been hid from ages and
        from generations, but now is
        made manifest to his saints:
27 To whom God would make
known what is the riches of
        the glory of this mystery
        among the Gentiles; which is
Christ in you, the hope of glory:
        KJV
        THOUGHT

By His grace, and your surrender
to Him as Lord of your life,
Christ provides you to be "holy and
        unblameable and
        unreproveable in His sight!"

        What a GRACIOUS, MARVELOUS
        SAVIOR!!

        We cannot negate Rom. 6:23,
        which says, "For ALL HAVE
SINNED, and come short of the
        glory of God!"

That verse is in the PRESENT
        PERFECT tense, meaning we
are ALL sinners ALL the time!
        THAT'S why we must CONFESS
our sin EVERY day, and beg
        God's forgiveness through what
        Christ ACCOMPLISHED for us!

        THEN, God can KEEP ON
        CLEANSING us!! (1John 1:9)

THIS was the "mystery" that was
        "hid from the ages!"

        HOWEVER, it is NOW "made
        manifest to His saints!"

        God wants to "make KNOWN"
all the "riches of the glory of
        this mystery among the Gentiles!"

        AND, that "mystery" is SHOWN
        by "Christ in YOU!"
        Christian,YOUR "hope of glory"
        can be shared with others!

If you are truly a born-again
        Christian, REMEMBER, that God
        isWORKING IN you "MIGHTILY!"

        REVEAL THE MYSTERY!!

        Love ya

          Today's Devotion:
          "Plant The SEED"
Once I was visiting with a friend of mine who was an Economics Professor in the university I attended. We were in his office, and I noticed the final test key on his desk.
When I looked at it for a few moments, I said, "Hey! These are the same questions you asked us when I was in your class. Aren't you afraid someone will copy and sell the answers?"

He said, "No, not really. You see in Economics, the answers CHANGE!
          ___SCRIPTURE___
          Mark 4:30-32
30 And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
31 It is like a grain of mustard seed , which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
32 But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
          KJV
          ___THOUGHT___

In the Bible, the answers DO NOT change!

The example of the mustard seed is a tremendous example of the truth and power of God's Word.
If one plants a mustard seed, one ALWAYS gets a mustard plant!

There are several varieties of the mustard which begin with a tiny small seed and grow to be a "tree."

Jesus "liken(s)" the kingdom of God to this plant.

Jesus is THE "seed" which produced the kingdom of God's inception in the world.
Within 3and1/2 years from the time He began to preach, Jesus had grown a ministry of people which continued to grow, and has never died.
He is the "seed of truth," and He planted that seed of truth in His disciples.

          God's truths never die!

The seed of truth Jesus planted is the "Word of God."
That seed is ALWAYS the same.
When you plant the truth of the WORD, it will always produce truth which endures.

Let's go plant some more seeds!
          Let's go plant JESUS!

          Love ya,
          Bruce

            "BIGGER and BIGGER"

A friend of mine once wrote:
“As I was praying a couple of weeks
ago I thought, My prayer list keeps
getting longer but my God gets
            bigger with each one.”

            (Thanks Sandra, I needed that!)

            ___SCRIPTURE__<
            Rom 5:1-2
1 Therefore being justified by faith,
we have peace with God through
            our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access
by faith into this grace wherein
we stand, and rejoice in hope of
            the glory of God.
            KJV
            ___THOUGHT___

PRAISE GOD, it is not by my works
            that I am justified!
For my works only show that I
            deserve no grace from God.

PRAISE GOD, it is by grace I am
justified through faith in Jesus Christ!
His grace first called me, convicted
me, and compelled me to confess
            Jesus as my Lord.
Were it not for His grace, I would
            never have heard the call!

PRAISE GOD, by that same grace,
I am KEPT by the power of God!
It is in His grace that I “stand,”
            and live!
Therefore, I can “rejoice in hope
            of the glory of God!”

PRAISE GOD, by the grace of Christ,
            I am continually accepted before
            His mercy seat!

Too often, we Christians allow the
things of the world to distract us
            from this wonderful grace.

            PRAISE GOD, His grace expresses
            His love.
And, when we are “in Christ,” we
can NEVER be separated from His
            love (Rom. 8:38-39)!

            Pray OFTEN!
            PRAY More!
            And, God keeps getting
            BIGGER and BIGGER!

              Today's Devotion:
              "The WONDER of CHANGE"

Some people are so BOUND by
earthly desires that they are of
              no heavenly USE.

Some people are so BOUND by
              heavenly desires that they are
              of no earthly USE.

              ___SCRIPTURE___

              2Cor. 3:18
But we all, with open face
beholding as in a glass the
              glory of the Lord,
              are changed into the same
              image from glory to glory,
              even as by the
              Spirit of the Lord.
              KJV

              ___THOUGHT___

One blessed day, God will change
our bodies and make them like Christ.

For Jesus Himself said, "because I
live, ye shall live also." (John 14:19)

Then, the manner in which He lives
shall also be the manner in which we
              live.

What a glorious day that will be!!

For the truly saved, the change is
              even beginning today.

As we constantly look toward Christ
our Lord, He first changes our
              DESIRES.
              And when desires change, then
              ACTIONS begin to change.

              The WONDER of change in
              personal thoughts, speech and
              actions is:
"Christ IN YOU, the hope of
              GLORY!" (Col. 1:27)

              LET Christ WORK the WONDER
              of change in YOU!
Then, you can be of HEAVENLY
              use, AND be EARTHY used!

              Love ya!

                Today's Devotion:
                "LAUGHING at OLD Things"

Last Saturday I had the joy of
                playing in a golf scramble
                tournament with a lot of
                Christian friends.

                I remembered a small LESSON
a golfing friend had taught me:
                "WATCH THE GHOST!"

So I shared the lesson with the
                other men.

                Putting requires lining up with
the contour of the ground and
allowing the putt to follow the
                ground to the hole.

                To be accurate, one must
                CONTINUE to look where the
ball WAS - AFTER you have
                putted it.
                AND, you will "WATCH the
                GHOST!"

                That assures a straighter
                trajectory to the hole, because
                you don't FOLLOW the ball
                with your head and shoulders.

                ___SCRIPTURE___

                Ps. 30:4-5
4 Sing unto the LORD, O ye
saints of His, and give thanks
                at the remembrance of His
                holiness.
                5. For his anger endureth but
a moment; in His favour is
                life: weeping may endure for
a night, but JOY cometh in
                the morning.
                KJV

                ___THOUGHT___

                After they TRIED the lesson,
                the guys would LAUGH!
                It was funny, because they
                could actually SEE the "ghost"
of the ball on the ground
                AFTER it left!

                Life is not all JOY!
                We encounter hurt, pain,
                sadness, worry, sleepless
                nights.

                But AFTER the effects of
                those things, we can
                experience JOY!

                God's FAVOR is LIFE!
                And, LIFE can be JOY!

                Have you ever felt sorrow
like the waves of the ocean
                beating relentlessly upon the
                beach?

                BUT AFTER that sorrow, one
                can experience JOY!

                HEED the LESSON!

Look back at the OLD things,
                and realize God causes the
JOY to come in the MORNING
                after!

                Love ya!

                  "FAILURE should MOTIVATE"

The deputy saw a car driving on
a one-way street the wrong way.

As he pulled the car over, he
noticed a sign on the back
                  window.
"My child made the honor roll."

                  _______SCRIPTURE_______

                  Rom. 3:20
Therefore by the deeds of the
law there shall no flesh be
justified in his sight: for by the
law is the knowledge of sin.
                  KJV

                  _______THOUGHT_________

                  The Old Testament law was
                  meant to be an educational
                  system with the primary focus
                  on motivation to SURRENDER
                  to God's GRACE!

                  That was a system that
                  POINTED sin OUT!

                  God's design was to
                  MOTIVATE
                  people to RELY upon HIM!

                  EVERY sacrifice pointed to
                  human FAILURE, yet also
                  pointed to God's wonderful
                  FORGIVENESS!

                  By pointing to the knowledge
of sin, God intended to build
                  a bridge from man's failure
                  to dependence upon HIM!

And that is why God came in
the Person of Jesus to DIE
                  as the ONLY perfect
                  sacrifice for our sins!
                  (Rom. 5:8)

                  The ONLY way to become
righteous in God's sight is to
                  surrender to Jesus Christ as
                  LORD of our lives!
                  HE is the FULFILLMENT of
                  the law for our sake!

                  The law is our EDUCATOR
                  and Jesus is our
                  GRADUATION!

                  Let the FAILURES of your
                  life MOTIVATE you to live
                  IN CHRIST and FOR Him!

                    "STRAY or STAY?"

In 1782, the United States Congress
                    voted this resolution: "The Congress
of the United States recommends and
approves the Holy Bible for use in all
                    schools."

William Holmes McGuffey is the author
of the McGuffey Reader, which was
used for over 100 years in our public
schools with over 125 million copies
sold until it was stopped in 1963.
                    President Lincoln called him the
                    "Schoolmaster of the Nation."

Listen to these words of Mr. McGuffey:
"The Christian religion is the religion of
our country. From it are derived our
notions on the character of God, on the
great moral Governor of the universe.

                    Gal. 3:1
                    O foolish Galatians, who hath
bewitched you, that ye should not
obey the truth, before whose eyes
                    Jesus Christ hath been evidently

                    _______THOUGHT_________

In 1978, I realized that God had been
pointing His finger directly at ME,
when He inspired Paul to write those
                    words in Gal. 3:1!!

                    My attendance to God's indelible,
and inerrant truth had been totally
                    INACTIVE for 15 years!

My focus had been on success by
                    worldly standards and not Biblical
                    truth!

                    Christian, WHAT has caused YOU
to stray from obedience to the
                    TRUTH of God's word?
                    Is it money, success, prestige,
                    science, industry, tradition?

Jesus died on the cross of Calvary
                    to produce salvation's offer to
                    EVERY person!

The TRUTH is in God's Holy Word!
                    We should:
                    *FOCUS our EYES upon it;
                    *TRAIN our BRAIN to LEARN it;
*USE our TONGUE to SPEAK it!

Let us not STRAY from the truth of
                    God's Word;
                    Let us STAY with it!

2 And be not conformed to this

the renewing of your mind, that
ye may prove what is that good,

                      _______THOUGHT_________

It's very interesting to note here
that the word for "world" in the
                      Greek is aion which means
                      age, or course.
It is NOT the Greek kosmos which
                      means the orderly arrangement of
                      the whole earth.

Thus, Christians are not to be
                      conformed to the AGE of
                      selfishishness and pride!
Instead, we are to be "transformed
by the renewing" of our minds.

The manner in which we renew our
attitudes is to pray daily and study
                      the Bible daily!
This is how we find what God wants
from us, and also how we learn to
                      apply ourselves accordingly.

Physical training, in an athlete, is
                      consciously using the mind to
                      train the body.

Spiritual training, in a Christian is
                      consciously using the mind to
                      train attitudes and direction.

Since God has saved us from what
                      we have done to ourselves,
It is proper that we yield ourselves
back to Him, and allow Him to
transform us into what He wants
                      from us.

                      STAY in training!
                      BE "transformed" by DAILY
                      "renewing your mind" with the
                      WORD of God!

A "kinked" hose will not allow the
                          water to flow freely.

                          And, and unrepentant Christian
will not produce the "living water"
                          to others.

                          Revival must begin with ME!

SIN is the KINK in the Christian
                          hose!

                          REPENTANCE is the REPAIR!

The "joy" of God's salvation is
realizing I am UNholy, and He is
                          HOLY!
Yet, He will ACCEPT me and
CLEANSE me for His use, IF
                          I repent!!

The "living water" of Christ must
work IN me before it can work
                          THROUGH me!

Would you teach others of the
                          marvelous salvation of Christ?

First, plead with God to UNKINK
                          your hose!
                          THEN, His "presence" will flow
                          freely THROUGH you!

My dad was one of the counselors
                            for our Royal Ambassador program
in our church for teen boys.

We hung a rope from a bridge.
I climbed the support for the bridge
and swung out over the river.
When I dropped, my body turned
                            and it hurt my side.

So, I didn't want to try it again.

Dad said, "Son, you need a

On the "swing" of life, we all
                            become hurt.
                            Continuing in faith through Christ
                            is CONQUEST.

When we are born again, we are
given "new creature" which is filled
with the faith of Christ and the
                            power of His "resurrection!"
Our "new creature" is filled with the
                            Spirit of the Living God!
He is the power by which Jesus
                            was raised from the dead!

Through His power, we are able to
face life, and death, with certainty.

The experiences of this life which
give us pain become DIM with the
realization of eternal life with Christ!

ALL of us fail and bring pain to
                            ourselves because of sin.
ALL of us suffer from the pain
                            brought by others' sin.

But, praise God, He gives us FAITH!

When the "swing"of life brings you sadness and pain,

He asked, "Have you had any
                              falls lately?"
                              I laughed, and said, "YES!"

                              He asked about it.

I said, "Well, I was on my
                              riding mower, and there was
a stick on the ground. So,
like always, I held the steering
wheel and leaned over to pick
up the stick. But the mower
struck a bump, and I fell off it."

                              We had a good laugh.
                              And, I remembered the verses
                              above.

                              "righteous," or "just," it means
                              that the person has surrendered
to Jesus, and God has PUT ON
                              that person His own
                              righteousness!

                              AND, God has JUSTIFIED that
person by HIS mercy and grace.

It does NOT mean that person is
                              perfect; rather that God LOOKS
                              at that person through the
                              righteousness of CHRIST in
                              Whom the person is ACCEPTED
                              of God!

God acts as the ultimate judge Who
brings justice in his own time, often
in response to trials, injustice, or
                              accusations.

                              WARNING:
"For the Lord will vindicate His
people and have compassion on His servants." (Ps 135:14 ESV)

                              Love ya!

is the story of a man intent on
                                sharing the Gospel of Christ

                                was a great revival happening.

Then, he went down to Gaza,

Continuing his journey, he was in
                                the area of Caesarea; again,
                                preaching the Gospel of Jesus!

                                  "REVEALING GOD"

                                  As Christians, we are ashamed
                                  of our many thoughts, speech,
                                  and actions which do NOT
                                  REVEAL the Lord God.

                                  But we must NEVER be
                                  "ashamed of the Gospel of
                                  Christ"!

16 For I am not ashamed of
the gospel of Christ: for it is
                                  the power of God unto
                                  salvation to every one that

It is in the Gospel of Jesus Christ
                                  that "the righteousness of God"
is "revealed from faith to faith!"

                                  Lord.

*And, God is quite willing to place
                                  UPON us HIS OWN righteousness
                                  when we surrender ourselves to
Christ as LORD of our thoughts,
                                  speech and actions!
