Do You Reign in Life? Prevailing in life is important because it sends an unmistakable and positive message to others. Reigning in life is a hope-filled one. Is there a song your life? You know what I mean? It's that song that carried you through a difficult time. This episode explores how God brings songs of deliverance to give hope, strength and comfort in the best way for us through every hardship.
In this 24th episode of The God Stories, called God and the Lion in the Streets, I share about three distinct times the Lord spoke to me. It was about an issue that many of us seem to be oblivious to, and its' apathy. It's a killer. In addition, a dream was given that shows the end result of it that none of us want.
THINKING OUT LOUD...I tend to overcomplicate things. I don't want to do that with the scriptures when trying to understand them. There's a difference between something that's truly multi-faceted vs making it complex. Overcomplication can bring alot of minutiae and overtake common sense. I think simple common sense application in scripture has a place.
This is part 2 and the 25th episode of Reflections. I'm moving on from The Jezebel Threats in part one, to speak on The Jezebel Life . There's a more in-depth look at the Jezebel-like lifestyle where we have to be in control! It takes a lot of energy to do that, don't you think?
If you've ever needed a financial miracle, this story says it all! If we trust God for provision, it can come in unexpected ways. This episode of the God Stories is about a large financial provision that was set into motion well ahead of a difficult event.
Inevitably, the media I constantly consume starts to consume me. It realigns my neural pathways, amplifies my prejudices, and embeds unhealthy dependencies. The culture in which I swim inevitably shapes my most fundamental perception of reality. In the words of today’s reading, it ‘squeezes me into its mold’. This can sometimes be positive. For example, when I inhabit an encouraging environment, I become more encouraging. When I spend time with prayerful people, I become more prayerful. But of course, it can also be deeply destructive. Cynicism is contagious. Consumerism is unfulfilling. Pornography is addictive. As a follower of Christ, I am called to be a catalyst in culture, affecting change, but all too easily, I am more like a chameleon merely mirroring the colors of my environment and blending in. But I am called to be different, to be holy, to be prophetically distinct. “Those who marry the spirit of the age will find themselves widows in the next.”*
(Widely attributed to Chesterton and quoted in Miroslav Volf "A Public Faith...")
They’re named after the 12 fallen and list the traits of each. When you say “I’m a (sign)” you’ve just verbally agreed to a spiritual contract with a demon.
Astrology is a Babylonian inversion of the mazzaroth, and no the 3 wise men were not astrologers. There’s a huge difference between using the stars for signs and seasons (astronomy, biblical instructions) and astrology aka worshipping/using them to guide your life/tell you your personality, etc
As a Christian, your only “sign” should be the cross, and you should identify as blood washed ✝️
In this 23rd episode of The God Stories, called God, the Buried Hatchet and the Prison Break I share about a powerful moment where God intervened on my behalf when I was in the painful prison of unforgiveness and I couldn't free myself. It was an intervention that was totally unexpected and remarkable!
Why do we ever think we're in control in life? Many factors can foster and shape control issues in our journey. Control is temporary and elusive at best. Our finest hope is to yield it to God in every way we can. Explore this reflection on control and be prepared to begin to let go!
A thankful attitude presupposes that the requests of God that we have made, have been heard and will be addressed. It sets the stage of faith. Thankfulness demonstrates an active trust.
The antithesis of thanksgiving is a victim mentality which is an ingrate's attitude: a thankless one.
