Come celebrate and care for our park with the Friends of Inwood Hill Park!

10th Annual Earth Day Festival

Schedule of Events
All activities are FREE, but please register

​Drop In Options:
-Exhibition Area 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM: Meet other community based organizations having a positive impact on NYC natural areas.
-Street Tree Care 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM: Lend a hand with the Bennet Park Stewards to care for our street trees.

Morning Activities:
-Family Forest Yoga 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM: Start your day with Corrine Flax and NYSDEC Rangers for a refreshing yoga session suitable for all ages.
-Morning Stewardship @ Wildfire Site 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Join us to help maintain and restore one of our most cherished natural areas.
-City Nature Challenge Bird Blitz with UPR 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM: Help us track and record the wonderful avian wildlife in our park.

Afternoon Activities:
-Afternoon Stewardship @ Gaelic Field Site 1:30 PM - 3:15 PM: Continue our day of care and conservation with activities focused on park preservation.
-Forest Ecology Walk with NYSDEC Forester Tim Wenskus 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM: Explore the ecology and restoration history of Inwood Hill Park's Shorakapok Preserve.
-Family Forest Walk with the NYSDEC Education Team 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM: Explore the natural beauty of Inwood Hill with a guided walk.

Special Highlights:
-Kinesis Project dance theatre: 12:30 PM & 2:30 PM: As afternoon hikes end, watch and listen for Kinesis Project dance by the entrance at Shorakapok Rock. Kinesis is an uptown, outdoor dance company and will offer excerpts of a piece based in geological research, called Bridge Matter/The Reach. Experience the parallels of geology, care and echoes as dancers appear along the paths.
-People's Theatre Project Youth Performance 3:30 PM : Don't miss this inspiring performance by talented local youth, celebrating our community and environment at the flagpole just inside the Seaman and Isham entrance to the park.
