In Conversation is a signature thought-leadership experience designed to spark meaningful dialogue, elevate perspectives, and inspire purposeful action. The event brings together influential leaders, executives, and community changemakers for an engaging exchange centered on leadership, legacy, and impact.
Each year, In Conversation features a distinguished guest whose journey and insights offer real-world lessons across business, civic engagement, and community advancement. Through an intimate, moderated discussion, attendees gain access to authentic storytelling, candid reflection, and forward-thinking ideas that extend far beyond the stage.
The 2026 program features distinguished guest Fran Harris, moderated by Ron Kirk, creating a dynamic and thoughtful exchange rooted in experience and vision.

Background
The Zan Wesley Holmes Jr. Community Outreach Center (ZWHJCOC) was incorporated as a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization in April 2003 as an extension of the outreach programs of St. Luke "Community" United Methodist Church, under the direction of Dr. Zan W. Holmes, Jr., who served as senior pastor for 29 years. St. Luke is an effective leader in Dallas, particularly in the South Dallas/Fair Park communities, and a contributor to outreach ministries that encourage economic and community development.
Mission
Zan Wesley Holmes Jr. Community Outreach Center is a nonprofit organization creating self-sustaining pathways out of poverty for young people and families in Dallas, Texas, through education, training and job placement.
Who we serve
ZWHJCOC services young people and their families living in poverty, with an emphasis on South Dallas and the Southeastern sector of Dallas.
