Project Dance Houston has a mission to share hope and healing through dance. Join us for performing, training and networking.

Project Dance Houston is a three-day event happening March 13-15, 2026. The event includes an Open Air Dance Performance Concert, Master Dance Classes, an Industry Expo, Inspirational Meetings, optional auditions for area professional dance companies, networking, and complimentary goody bags. To date, Project Dance has hosted events in over 20 major cities around the world including London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Manila, Sydney, Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, and many more!

Houston has a vibrant and growing dance community with many styles, cultures, and different groups of people. We are excited about the joy and hope this event will bring to the city and the opportunity to knit the dance community here together even more.

To see the heart of Project Dance view our PROMO VIDEO.

While the weekend is designed to give participants the opportunity to perform and take master dance classes from professionals across the country, Project Dance also strives to inspire dancers as artists and individuals. Some of the activities over the weekend focus on the intersection of faith and art. While these inspirational events are optional, we enjoy celebrating those deeply held beliefs that art is a gift to be enjoyed and pursued.

Project Dance is not a convention or competition but rather a life-changing experience for dancers who desire to PERFORM WITH INTEGRITY TO INSPIRE. Our goal is to equip and encourage dancers as they seek their calling in the world of dance as well as offer them a true inside look at life as a professional dancer. We would love to have you there as a part of the event!

About Project Dance

This three day event gathers professional, pre-professional and aspiring dancers for training, performances and networking. The weekend is centered around an all day open air dance concert that is free to the public featuring local and international dance artistry in ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop and tap. Dancers gather with a common vision: to bring hope and healing through the universal language of dance.

Learn the World Tour Group Dance! A flash-mob style energetic dance that will be performed at every Project Dance event around the world this year! A few weeks before your event, you will receive an email with instructional videos and the music file to learn the Group Dance. When you arrive at Check-in on Friday, there will be a review session to finalize timing, counts, etc. Join all the other participants in every PD city in learning this flash-mob style dance, and then perform it throughout the day during our Open Air Dance Concert on Saturday.

Kicking off our weekend is Project Dance Live, an evening of area professional companies performing their latest works, free give-aways, and a Q&A interview panel of top dance artists and choreographers who are out there making a career of dance. See performances from some of the professional companies and universities who will be holding auditions for their programs during master classes on Sunday.

Closing out the night is an optional Creative Embodied Prayer Session for the city of Houston and the Open Air Concert the next day. All are welcome to attend.

Our open air stage will be set in the heart of Houston and will take place on Saturday, March 14th from 11:00am-5:00pm. A Google Form will go out to all directors and individual performers with details on how to submit works. You may submit as many pieces as you like, however depending on time, not all of them may be included in the concert. You will recieve a final show order on Friday, March 13th.

Our Sunday master classes will be held at West University Dance Centre. A few weeks prior to our event you will receive a Google Form to sign up for your desired classes. We will be offering around 16 classes to choose from in various levels and dance genres, including ballet, Graham technique, Horton technique, jazz, contemporary, improvisation, choreography, dancer mental & physical health workshops, and more.

This year, Project Dance Houston is excited to be holding optional auditions for several professional dance companies, university programs, dance intensives, scholarships, and other educational opportunities. Held during our Master Class Series by class observation, participants may sign up to audition for one or all of the various programs that they are interested in pursuing on Friday at Check-in. Be prepared to fill out audition forms and submit headshots if requested by each organization. Some of the organizations offering auditions this year include: Ad Deum Dance Company & Mentorship Program, Ad Deum Summer Dance Intensive, Belhaven University, University of St. Thomas, Open Sky Arts Collective & Internship Program, Palm Beach Atlantic University, and more to come. No extra audition fees, and the convenience of auditioning for multiple programs at once!

Dancers may register as an individual/soloist participant. You may submit solo work for the outdoor concert performance and learn the World Tour Group Dance that is performed throughout the event. Solos are allowed at the discretion of our stage managers and not all solos are selected for the performance.

11th Registrant Free:

For every 10 registered dancers, 1 free registration can be accessed by selecting the ticket labeled 11th/22nd free.

Group Directors:

(Please note: all company directors, teachers, studio owners, or group organizers will be referred to as “directors” going forward).

Directors who plan to participate (attend Friday’s events, observe/take Sunday classes and/or perform on Saturday) should consider themselves a registered participant and should pay the full registration fee. Directors who are traveling with a group but not participating (only ensuring that their dancers arrive at all events) will be exempt from the registration fee. This exemption will only be offered to 1 director per group. Other teachers and directors within the group should register for the entire event. Each attending dancer is required to register online.
