SHINE U: Maker’s Edition is a hands-on workshop series designed to help students explore their creativity, discover new hobbies, and learn from real student entrepreneurs who’ve been in their shoes. Each session highlights the “H,” “I,” and “E” of our SHINE Framework—Hobbies, Interests & Irritants, and Experiences—helping young makers uncover what excites them and why it matters.

Even better? It’s a chance to get inspired for our 8th Annual Holiday Artisan Market Ft. Student Entrepreneurs on November 8th, where students can take what they’ve learned and turn it into something worth sharing—or even selling.

Beads, business, and big ideas come together in this creative workshop led by young maker Avery Hammond.

In this fun, feel-good session, the 12-year-old founder of D’Vine Dangles will guide students through designing and creating their own hoop earrings using colorful beads, tassels, and simple techniques. Avery’s journey began right here at House of Shine, where she first launched her business at our Holiday Artisan Market—now she’s back to help spark inspiration in the next wave of young makers.

Participants will:

• Design and build their own pair of earrings to take home
• Learn the basics of color, balance, and creativity in jewelry design
• Hear how Avery turned her hobby into a business right here at House of Shine
• Discover what it’s like to be a maker—and how they can become one too

All supplies are provided. No experience needed—just bring your imagination!

Please note: Each class requires a minimum of 8 participants to run and for students ages 8-12!
