Stronger Together: A Family Day for Military Parents and Kids (Ages 8–15)
About this Event
Enjoy a meaningful day with your family alongside other veteran and military families. This free event is designed for parents or caregivers and their children to participate together in activities that build communication, trust, and connection. Whether you are looking to reconnect, recharge, or simply have fun as a family, this event offers an opportunity to grow closer through shared experiences.
Workshop Sessions Include:
- Kindness Rocks – Create uplifting art and share messages of encouragement. Led by Samaritan Center Therapists Savannah Arranaga, LPC-Associate and Stephanie Martinez, LCSW.
- Teamwork Towers – Build communication and trust through fun, hands-on challenges. Led by Samaritan Center Therapists Melanie Ripple, LMSW, Mira Browne, LMSW, and Kamini Verma, LCSW-S, RPT-S.
- Equine Connection – Experience the calming bond of grooming and interacting with horses. Led by ROCK staff.
Event Details:
- Open to any veteran or active-duty service member parent/caregiver and their children ages 8–15
- Proof of military status required: DD-214, VA card, military ID, marriage certificate, or benefits statement
- Parents/caregivers and children will participate together in all activities, up to 5 individuals per family
- Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes (boots preferred) for light movement and horse activities
- Lunch will be provided
- Childcare is not available for children under age 8
