Embrace summer with a four-course dinner created by our own Central Market Executive Chef, Jesse Perez, featuring the best tomatoes, clams with chorizo, and, everyone's favorite, beef. As you sit back, relax, and savor each bite, the Chef will introduce you to each course and include insight into his inspiration. You’ll enjoy fresh from the farm, tomatoes and basil combined with light and creamy burrata to start; a spicy tomato broth featuring clams and chorizo; flank steak accented with a garlic mojo and a creamy white bean hummus; and conclude your meal with a rustic galette featuring the freshest berries.

Jesse T. Perez, named the Top Latino Chef in the U.S. in 2009 by the Flavors of Passion Awards, is a renowned culinary talent and the Executive Chef of Central Market Broadway in San Antonio, where he has been a partner since 2015. Perez’s culinary journey began during his time at the University of Michigan, where his passion for food ignited while working at local restaurants. After earning a degree in sociology and ethnic cultural history, he chose to follow his passion and pursue a career in the culinary arts.

Perez’s career took him across the country, where he led restaurants in San Antonio, Atlanta, and Long Beach, California, while honing his expertise in food and wine. He earned a certificate of Sommeliers from the Guild of Master Sommeliers, further refining his craft. In 2010, Perez returned to San Antonio and opened Arcade Midtown Kitchen at Pearl, where his innovative fusion of Latin-infused and Americana flavors gained national acclaim. His culinary achievements led to an invitation to cook at the prestigious James Beard House in 2012.

In addition to his work at Central Market, Chef Jesse co-founded and is a partner in two fast-casual restaurants in New York City—Oxido and Crisol. These establishments offer modern Mexican and Cuban cuisine, reflecting his commitment to celebrating Latin flavors with contemporary twists.
