The Black Experience 2026

A Citywide Celebration of Culture, Community, and Legacy

This February, Grand Prairie invites residents and visitors of all backgrounds to take part in The Black Experience 2026, a dynamic, month-long celebration honoring Black history, culture, and community impact. Presented by the Grand Prairie Black History Commission in partnership with the City of Grand Prairie, this citywide series transforms Black History Month into a shared experience—one rooted in education, creativity, wellness, faith, and economic empowerment.

Following the success of its inaugural year, The Black Experience returns with expanded programming designed to engage more than 8,000 attendees across multiple venues throughout the city, including EpicCentral, Uptown Theater, Texas Trust Theater, community centers, and faith-based spaces. Each event is thoughtfully curated to welcome families, students, professionals, and community leaders alike.
