Job Title: CAD Designer
Location: Carrollton, TX
Engagement: Fulltime
General Description
We are seeking an experienced senior SolidWorks CAD Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing detailed models and drawings, managing Product Data Management (PDM) systems, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) using 3DExperience (3DX) platform. You will play a crucial role in the design and development of our products, ensuring high-quality and efficient design processes. Experience in setting up models for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation in ANSYS is a plus.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks and 3DX
- Manage and maintain design data using PDM systems
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to refine product designs
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and regulations
- Document design processes and maintain accurate records
- Stay updated with the latest SolidWorks and ANSYS features and industry trends
- Manage, maintain, and interpret the Bills of Materials (BOM)
- Prepare drawings and wire diagrams as needed
- Set up CFD simulations in ANSYS to support simulation models to validate and optimize design concepts
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience with SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, PDM/PLM, and simulation
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
- Experience with other CAD software (e.g.Creo, Solid Edge, AutoCAD, Revit) is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Proficiency in setting up CFD simulations in ANSYS
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role
Skills
- Advanced SolidWorks 3D modeling and simulation
- Product Data Management (PDM) and Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems to include 3D Experience as a plus
- Technical drawing creation
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical and critical thinking and communication skills
- Experience generating photorealistic renderings a plus
- Proficient in setting up CFD models for simulations using ANSYS
