Job Summary

Republican Jobs is leading the search for a mission-driven organization seeking an experienced legal leader to oversee litigation strategy, support legislative initiatives, and contribute to public legal advocacy. The ideal candidate brings strong litigation expertise, a deep understanding of the legislative process, and a long-term commitment to values-driven legal work.


Responsibilities
  • Lead litigation strategy in trial, appellate, and supreme court proceedings

  • Conduct bench trials and manage complex state-level legal disputes

  • Handle evidence, question witnesses, and conduct depositions as needed

  • Utilize written discovery to establish key facts and support arguments

  • Analyze and advise on proposed legislation, including drafting amendments

  • Respond to legal inquiries from the public, media, and policymakers

  • Draft public-facing legal content and edit work from senior legal staff


Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in civil litigation, including state appellate practice

  • Proficiency in courtroom procedures, evidence handling, and discovery work

  • Familiarity with the legislative process and policy-related legal advising

  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents

  • Comfortable in a mission-aligned, values-driven, conservative legal environment

  • Strong sense of initiative, time management, and team leadership

  • Must be an active member of the California State Bar
