General Manager – Regional Branch

Description

The General Manager – Regional Branch at P.B. Hoidale Co., Inc. is responsible for overseeing all operations, sales, service, and administrative functions of a regional branch. This role ensures the branch delivers high-quality products and services, meets financial targets, and operates efficiently while maintaining the company’s commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

The General Manager leads a cross-functional team—including service technicians, project personnel, sales staff, warehouse/parts personnel, and administrative employees—and serves as the primary representative of P.B. Hoidale Co., Inc. in the region.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Branch Management


  • Provide overall leadership, direction, and oversight for all branch operations.
  • Manage day-to-day activities across service, construction, sales, warehouse, and administrative departments.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Promote a positive, accountable, and safety-focused culture.

Operational Performance


  • Oversee project execution, service delivery, scheduling, equipment management, and operational workflows.
  • Ensure projects and service jobs are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Drive operational efficiencies, cost control measures, and process improvements.
  • Support field supervisors and project managers in addressing operational challenges.

Sales & Customer Relationship Management


  • Support and grow branch sales by identifying new business opportunities and strengthening customer relationships.
  • Partner with sales teams to develop regional strategies, pricing, bids, and customer presentations.
  • Meet regularly with key customers to ensure excellent service and resolve issues quickly.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and community engagements.

Financial Management


  • Develop and manage the branch budget, including revenue goals, operating expenses, labor costs, and capital needs.
  • Monitor financial performance, review job costing, and ensure profitable operations.
  • Provide accurate forecasting and regular financial updates to corporate leadership.
  • Support inventory management, purchasing, and cost-control initiatives.

Team Leadership & Development


  • Recruit, hire, and develop high-performing staff to support branch operations.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set expectations, and implement training and development plans.
  • Foster teamwork, communication, and a positive work environment.
  • Address personnel issues promptly and fairly.

Safety, Compliance & Quality Assurance


  • Ensure branch operations comply with company safety programs and all regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct safety meetings, jobsite visits, and audits to reinforce safe work practices.
  • Maintain quality standards across installations, service work, and customer interactions.
  • Lead corrective actions for safety concerns, quality issues, or customer complaints.

Cross-Functional Collaboration


  • Work closely with corporate departments—including finance, HR, safety, engineering, and supply chain—to support branch operations.
  • Communicate branch needs, challenges, and opportunities to executive leadership.
  • Support companywide initiatives, programs, and strategic goals.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 7–10+ years of leadership experience in operations, service, construction, or industrial markets.
  • Strong understanding of project management, service operations, and field-based workflows.
  • Experience in fuel systems, petroleum equipment, industrial services, or related industries strongly preferred.
  • Proven financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a hands-on leadership style.
