Description
Someone is needed to help the Human Relations department’s day-to-day operations run smoothly. The current members of the HR team would greatly appreciate someone who can keep them operating at peak performance. Some areas which would use your help are legal and regulatory compliance, employee relations, talent acquisition and retention, and backup for other detailed, business-critical matters such as benefits administration.
What You Will Do
- Partner with HR hiring team and hiring managers to ensure smooth hiring and onboarding experiences that reflect Our company culture
- Partner with Communications and Marketing teams for orientation and onboarding of new hires, temporary workers, and interns, as well as the entire employee experience
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Accounting/Controller to ensure seamless communication and alignment on team member matters.
- Organize, coach, and guide leadership through disciplinary and termination process
- Be a resource for team member inquiries regarding employee relations, development, and assist with benefits questions, as needed
- Manage compensation processes including annual increases and salary data requests
- Partner with the HR Manager and Learning and Development Manager to create a training and development plan to train and develop other team members.
- Serve as culture ambassador, modeling the behaviors of Our Principles and Organizational values in every interaction
- Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and processes
- Take responsibility for I-9 Audits, 401(k) audits, PPACA compliance, unemployment claims, and random drug screenings
- Organize, update, and maintain the employee handbook, policies and procedures
- Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions and share with HR leadership
- Interpret guidelines and regulations for EEO, ADA, FMLA, worker’s compensation and other employment and labor laws, where required
- Act as an approachable point of contact for team members and team leaders – fostering trust and transparency
- Create and produce critical metrics reports such as evaluation of new hire quality, turnover, event attendance, etc.
- Establish and maintain relationships with HR vendors, as needed
- Provide international HR and benefits support for Canada and Australia
- Participate in company events
- Assume responsibility for any HR events, as required
- Occasional travel to other locations may be required
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field
- At least two years of experience in an exempt level position providing HR support for an organization with 100 plus employees
- A strong track record in a fast paced or growth-oriented organization
- Experience handling disciplinary process, employee relations, employee development, new hire orientation, and terminations
- Advanced level understanding of benefits administration, both health & welfare and retirement
- Professional, detail-conscious verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization
- Advanced-level computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Experience with Payroll/HRIS technology
- Additional education, whether graduate degree or relevant professional continuing education, is considered a plus
- Professional certification is considered a plus
