Job Summary
The role of the NSA Maintenance Technician is to assist the Facility Manager in ensuring that NSA’s facilities meet the needs of the college’s programs and activities. The Maintenance Technician performs maintenance, construction, and repair work under the direction of the Facility Manager and supervises temp and student workers when appropriate. Pay is DOE. Starts immediately.

Essential Responsibilities:
· Perform routine and preventative maintenance
· Conduct basic demolition, and construction as directed
· Respond to and adequately manage maintenance and facility emergencies as they arise
· Assist with temporary staff training, developing procedures and protocols where beneficial
· Supervise and perform support services such as custodial, landscaping, snow removal, etc. as needed.
· Coordinate and assist with set-up and tear-down for meetings and events
Other Responsibilities
· Work alongside contractors and other service providers as needed
· Drive vehicles for college functions and needs as they arise
· Proactively identify facility needs and communicate those to management
Minimal Qualifications
· General commercial facility maintenance experience
· Significant construction experience in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, finishing, etc.
· Valid driver’s license with good driving record
· Flexible schedule with ability to respond to urgent needs
· Detail-oriented and conscientious – a desire for excellence in everything undertaken
· Ability to work independently as well as follow detailed instructions on assigned tasks
· Able to prioritize multiple tasks, follow-up, and follow through to completion
· Able to work 8 hours on your feet and repeatedly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; proper lifting techniques required
· Ability to stand; walk up to 5 miles per day, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, push, pull
· A good attitude without grumbling, complaining, gossiping, or loss of temper
· Member in good standing of a local orthodox, reformed Christian church
· Must be able to sign the college code of conduct and statement of faith
Preferred Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Familiarity with federal, state, local codes and regulations
