Job Summary
Technician apprentice will assist mechanical technicians in installation of equipment and also will provide mechanical support to customers equipment. Apprentice will need to perform preventive maintenance on equipment, repairs assist customers while equipment is operating to minimize downtime. Travel will be required to perform this job, as we work with a customer that does business all across the country.
- Plan, manage and perform mechanical assembly, installation and commissioning of equipment
- Train customers to operate, maintain and optimize equipment performance
- Plan and perform trials to optimize equipment performance and demonstrate value
- Assist technician in providing warranty support by diagnosing failures, ordering parts and affecting repairs and replacements
- Assist Technician in providing insightful technical feedback to the Company’s Engineering and R&D departments to improve equipment performance and value
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a mechanical or equivalent experience
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Ability to independently install, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment
- Ability to read and understand manufacturer’s drawings and manuals to “self-teach” new technology
- Strong organizational and time management skills with high level of attention to detail
- Effective communication (verbal and written) and relationship skills
- Proficient with Excel and Word
- Positive, confident outlook with an entrepreneurial, problem-solving personality
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Ability to travel extensively (80%) both domestically and internationally and work weekends, holidays and overtime when required with some trips lasting up to 2-3 months
- Able to safely lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work in tight spaces, and stand, kneel and squat on a repetitive basis
