Central Van Lines, Inc. is a Southern California-based relocation management company specializing in U.S. Military household goods relocations, primarily international moves. We are deeply experienced in the complex DoD moving program and are committed to delivering seamless moves for service members and their families.
The Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Military International Household Goods Traffic Manager to independently manage a large volume of international HHG shipments from start to finish. This is an individual contributor role where success will be evident within weeks – not months.
What You’ll Do:
Independently oversee hundreds of active international HHG shipments daily, identifying shipments requiring attention and acting to resolve issues quickly- Manage costs and supplier networks across transportation subcontractor segments (OA/DAs, Port Agents, Ocean Lines, Linehaul)
- Ensure full compliance with MARAD Cargo Preference rules and all DP3 program regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
- Resolve escalations quickly and with full ownership

You require no training on operational basics – only an introduction to our technology systems- You manage your own workload and deadlines without needing reminders
- You don’t need handholding for essential IT systems or software productivity
Qualifications (Must-Haves):
5+ years in a Military International Household Goods Traffic Management role- Proven mastery of:
» CONUS & OCONUS agent service costing & supplier network management
» Cargo consolidation and port services costing & supplier network management
» Inland OTR transportation costing & supplier network management
» Container and breakbulk ocean freight routing strategies and costs
» MARAD Cargo Preference shipping rules
» DP3 program procedures and regulations
High-level proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and your operating system (Windows or MacOS)- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage high-volume workload independently
