About the Role
As our Product Manager, you’ll lead the vision and development of our website—a place of welcome, discovery, and delight for millions of users around the world. This is more than just a content library. Our website introduces seekers to the richness of the Bible, hosts returning guests with intentionality, and inspires our community to engage in thoughtful, paradigm-aligned study—both personally and communally.
You’ll guide cross-functional teams to build experiences rooted in our three strategic pillars for our web properties:
Engage seekers across the globe: Meet people where they are with accessible, search-friendly pathways into the BibleProject library.
Host our guests more thoughtfully: Create delightful, brand-aligned experiences that guide people through our content with clarity and purpose.
Inspire regulars to communal study: Design experiences that support users in studying and sharing BibleProject content with others.
In all your work, you will bring your skills and experience to help further our mission of helping people experience the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus.
Core Responsibilities
Leadership
Own and drive the product vision, roadmap, and prioritization for BibleProject’s public-facing website
Translate our strategic pillars into actionable features, content architecture, and user flows
Serve as the champion of the user—balancing simplicity, usefulness, and beauty in every solution
Regularly communicate progress, outcomes, and insights to stakeholders
Responsibility
Work cross-functionally to support global audiences with scalable, multi-lingual website experiences
Collaborate with design, engineering, content, and marketing teams to ship experiences that meet user needs and reflect our brand values
Gather and synthesize user research, analytics, and feedback to inform decisions
Partner with engineering and QA to ensure smooth delivery and high-quality releases
Expertise
Apply systems thinking to oversee the full user journey and refine details.
Utilize Agile methodologies, manage sprints, and write tickets in Jira to keep teams aligned and progressing.
Ensure brand identity is reflected consistently across website visuals, voice, and user experience.
Foster collaboration across disciplines, creating an encouraging environment where teams feel seen, trusted, and empowered.
Embrace feedback and iteration, remaining flexible to adopt better solutions as they emerge.
What We’re Looking For
3–5+ years of experience as a product manager or digital product owner, ideally on content-rich websites
Demonstrated ability to apply systems thinking, balancing a high-level view of user journeys with attention to detailed execution.
Proficient in collaborating across design, content, and engineering disciplines, with a track record of fostering cross-functional alignment and shared success.
Strong understanding of brand identity, with experience ensuring consistent representation across web visuals, voice, and user experience.
Skilled in Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog management, and writing clear, actionable tickets in Jira or similar tools.
Proven ability to cultivate collaborative and supportive team environments, promoting psychological safety and empowering designers and engineers to excel.
Adaptable and iterative in approach, with openness to feedback and a commitment to continuous improvement in product development.
Passion for the Bible and its impact on diverse audiences, with sensitivity to the experiences of both seekers and seasoned students.
Bonus Points
Experience working on educational, nonprofit, or faith-based products
Exposure to SEO, analytics tools, or content strategy
Familiarity with CMS platforms and global/multilingual site experiences

BibleProject is an educational technology and media studio whose mission is to help people experience the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus.
We have grown significantly in the area of multimedia technology. What began with two animated videos now encompasses multiple platforms and products—including over 170 videos. Our website and app serve as connection hubs to our ever-growing library of resources. Classroom, our online learning platform, offers accessible, graduate-level Bible classes.
These, and all of our supporting products, continue to be completely free to audiences around the world, thanks to the ongoing generosity of our patrons.
Location: Portland, Oregon preferred but remote candidates will be equally considered.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for this role is $99,000 - $120,000
Competitive salary that scales with experience directly related to this role. Top tier in non-profit market but will not match top technology companies
