SAFe Scrum Master
Location: 100% remote EST
W2 Only
6-month contract with potential for extension/conversion
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Lead project execution: Guide the development and delivery of project plans and programs in a matrixed environment, ensuring alignment with critical business objectives.
- Champion Agile methodologies: Expertly guide teams in SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban principles, enforcing best practices and promoting continuous improvement.
- Optimize workflows: Proactively identify and remove impediments and bottlenecks to enhance team productivity and flow.
- Master PI Planning: Play a critical role in Program Increment (PI) Planning by collaborating with other Scrum Masters and Release Train Engineers, helping define scope, objectives, and iteration goals.
- Foster collaboration: Drive cross-team collaboration for feature development and dependency resolution across multiple squads, including development, QA, performance testing, security, and documentation.
- Oversee release management: Guide the release strategy and roadmap for hotfixes, fixes, and service packs, ensuring clear stakeholder communication and readiness.
- Facilitate key ceremonies: Organize and lead team events, including planning sessions, daily sync-ups, reviews, inspections, and retrospectives.
- Leverage powerful tools: Utilize Jira and Confluence to manage effective Kanban boards, enhance team workflow, and track productivity metrics.
- Build strong relationships: Mediate team conflicts, foster trusting relationships, and effectively escalate complex issues to senior leadership when needed.
- Drive compliance & improvement: Ensure adherence to corporate policies and public regulations, while continually recommending process enhancements.
What You'll Bring:
- SAFe certification (Must have)
- 5+ years of experience in IT software development, with a strong background in SAFe Agile methodologies.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Proven ability to manage multiple squads and oversee end-to-end software development projects.
- Exceptional communication skills – adept at speaking, listening, and writing clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Strong capabilities in collaboration, teamwork, risk management, and problem-solving.
- Familiarity with project governance certifications (SAFe, PMP, Kanban, Scrum, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, MS Office, and ideally MS Visio.
