Training and Development Specialist

Description


Position Summary

The Training & Development Specialist will report to the Director of Training & Development to design, develop, coordinate, and deliver highly engaging, performance-based, learner-centric training and coaching solutions to enhance team member capabilities needed to achieve Agency and professional goals.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Facilitates leadership and operational training via a group setting, in-person classroom, virtual webinar/teleconference and one-on-one.
  2. Writes/builds training materials including outlines, job-aids, work instructions, classroom materials, on-the-job training guides and worksheets.
  3. Develops e-learning modules, hand-outs, infographics, videos and quizzes.
  4. Keeps learning materials current based on business data, trends and updates to operational processes.
  5. Executes a consulting process and performance analysis to gather information on needs, maintain pulse on the business, offer creative ideas and recommend impactful training, change management and process-improvement solutions.
  6. Builds and maintains strong relationships with all departments/stores to determine needs and to give and receive feedback and coaching.
  7. Collaborates with subject matter experts and Director of Training & Development to design, develop and implement robust training solutions.
  8. Measures progress and effectiveness of training through capturing feedback and gathering data through observation and testing.



Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, Marketing, Merchandising or related field. Minimum four years work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  2. Two years’ training development and facilitation experience preferred.
  3. Facilitation of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) training preferred.
  4. Three years’ experience, team building and coaching to improve performance and two year’s retail, logistics, warehouse and/or safety experience strongly preferred.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively collaborate with business units to assess needs, develop and deliver training as promised.
  6. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) required.
  7. Skills in E-Learning Authoring Tools, SharePoint, Guide By Cell, SnagIt, Brainshark and Learning Management Systems preferred. 
  8. Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
  9. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  10. For positions that require driving, must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, and be able to travel as needed if you drive your vehicle during company business.
