Front End Developer Responsibilities Include
- Front end web development with modern techniques and frameworks, including HTML5, CSS, SASS, and Responsive Design.
- Crafting semantic HTML layouts and optimizing user experience through organized content and functionality.
- Integrating RESTful APIs for Java web application interoperability.
- Developing JavaScript code with strict mode compliance and utilizing frameworks like jQuery, Backbone.js, Ember.js, and D3.
- Implementing web layouts from static images and creating views/templates in full-stack frameworks.
- Writing software that meets organizational web, accessibility, and multi-lingual standards, including compliance with 508 standards and localization (i18n).
- System Analysis, Design and Development:
- Designing and implementing software applications, including remediation of defects and infrastructure setup/validation.
- Documenting APIs and technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Conducting alternative analysis within Web Apps boundaries.
- Following Test-driven development (TDD) paradigm and operating in a DevOps environment.
- Assisting with automation and performance testing, defect remediation, and software packaging.
- Utilizing version control systems, Git and GitHub, and open-source solutions.
- Mentoring team members and fostering collaborative work.
- Agile Teamwork:
- Active participation in daily stand-ups, planning, and demos.
- Effective communication with Scrum Master and team.
- Identifying and addressing dependencies and Enabler Stories.
- Engaging in retrospectives and translating business requirements into stories.
- Working in agile team environments.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Active IRS Cleared (MBI)- required. Must have 3+ years of full-time professional front-end experience working on Agile teams and using modern web development tools, techniques, and methods for the creation and deployment of user-facing interfaces
- Proficiency in client-side development tools and libraries: Node.js, NPM, Babel, Webpack, JavaScript, React, Create React App, Jest, Testing Library, Selenium, Jira, Confluence, React, AWS, Databricks.
- Strong understanding and application of web standards: CSS, HTML5.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards: WCAG 2.0 (Section 508/WCAG 2.0 AA) and WAI-ARIA.
- Experience with multi-lingual standards: Accessibility Standards (a11y), Internationalization (i18n), and Localization (l10n).
