Many pro-life advocates are outraged by the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to allow abortion pills to be mailed nationwide despite bans in many states, calling the order “murder by mail.”
Last Thursday, the court issued an order allowing for the mailing of abortion pills to women in pro-life states as the courts continue to weigh its legality.
The high court paused a decision from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit regarding litigation by the state of Louisiana to ban the mailing of abortion pills like Mifepristone.
The order included dissents from Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas, the latter of whom wrote that abortion drug providers “are not entitled to a stay of an adverse court order based on lost profits from their criminal enterprise.”
“They cannot, in any legally relevant sense, be irreparably harmed by a court order that makes it more difficult for them to commit crimes,” Thomas argued.
Here are four reactions to the court's decision from prominent pro-life leaders, including Lila Rose and Tony Perkins.
