(LifeSiteNews) — Pope Leo XIV will lead a Rosary for world peace at the Vatican Gardens at 7:00 p.m. Rome time on Saturday. The Holy Father has invited all Catholic faithful from around the world to ask the Blessed Mother for enduring peace on earth.
“Pope Leo will pray the Joyful Mysteries, with each decade being dedicated specifically for those affected by war and violence and entrusting them to the intercession of Mary, Queen of Peace,” said Vatican News.
The first mystery will be dedicated to the most vulnerable victims of war, while the second mystery is for those who bring hope to the suffering victims. The third mystery will be for all medical personnel who deliver vital aid to those in war torn countries, while the fourth mystery is for prisoners who endure “violations of human dignity.”
The final mystery will be dedicated to an “end to war and the establishment of lasting peace in the world.”

The Pope’s prayer for peace follows several other appeals calling for an end to wars, especially in the Middle East and Ukraine. In his homily on Pentecost, Pope Leo issued renewed invocations of the Holy Spirit to combat the “evil of war.”
“Thanks to the Spirit, we can bring true peace to all, the truth that saves — the same Christ our Lord,” said Leo.
“Dear friends, with fervent hearts, let us pray today that the Spirit of the risen One may save us from the evil of war, which is overcome not by a superpower, but by the omnipotence of love. Let us pray that he free humanity from misery, which is redeemed not by immeasurable wealth, but by an inexhaustible gift.”
Pope Leo XIV has also made other appeals for peace. In October he urged Catholics to pray the Rosary daily and in August called on the faithful to fast for peace.
