Pro-life group faces leftist violence but ‘record’ support at Oklahoma fair

(LifeSiteNews) — For the fourth year in a row, members of the group Abolitionists Rising crashed a “medieval fair” sponsored by the University of Oklahoma, despite organizers’ best attempts to keep them out.   

The group posted a 30-minute montage of the sad – and sometimes comical – pushback they received from angry fairgoers who clearly resented their presence.   

At one point a woman is seen on camera inquiring with fair officials if tearing down the abolitionist’s camera equipment will “create enough of a stink to get the police over here to arrest them?” She admitted through a broad smile that her act would indeed constitute assault, claiming that’s something that the pro-lifers “deserve.”  

When one of the camera men calmly explained to her that he hates abortion, she gave him her middle finger. When he went further and suggested that people get angry and want to destroy property and assault people promoting a pro-life message, it’s because “they advocate for an evil thing,” she immediately tried to yank away and steal a camera out of a videographer’s hands. 

Her violence escalated as she attempted to destroy a pro-life signboard by tearing it, kicking it, and sitting on it.  

While the out-of-control woman sought to have the pro-lifers arrested, she soon found herself in police custody. 

A very large man is seen telling a female pro-lifer, “You’re worthless scum” and using vulgar language. Another large woman wearing pointed animal ears screamed “Shame!” in a deep raspy voice as she passed by, while yet another tried to argue that displaying posters of aborted babies at the fair was tantamount to obscene behavior in public.  

The next day, the “pesky abolitionists” arrived on the scene dressed like William Wallace and his fellow freedom-fighting warriors. 

At least one fairgoer that day was upset that one of the pro-life posters showed an ultrasound of a baby in his or her mother’s womb. 

While the abolitionists suffered continued abuse, there were also “record numbers” of people who approached the pro-life protesters and thanked them for their presence.
