Two faith-tech companies have joined forces to create what they call the world’s first Christian smart ring, marking a major expansion in the intersection of wearable technology and spiritual practice.
Glorify, a Christian daily devotional app with more than 25 million users, and Confidein, an AI hardware and faith technology company, announced a merger on May 20, consolidating under the Glorify name. The new entity aims to bridge digital and physical worlds to help Christians integrate faith into everyday life.
The centerpiece of the merger is the Glorify Ring, set to launch this summer. It combines conventional smart-ring hardware with faith-specific features, using Near Field Communication (NFC) technology for quick access to personalized spiritual content.
According to details shared in company announcements, users can tap the ring against an NFC-enabled smartphone to receive an AI-matched Bible verse or prayer based on their selected emotional state. The passive NFC chip requires no battery, drawing power from the phone during the brief interaction. The ring also delivers gentle haptic vibrations as reminders for prayer, devotions, or reflection, while tracking spiritual habits such as prayer duration and consistency.
The ring builds on earlier Confidein developments, which emphasized community connection by allowing users to select their current emotional state, receive AI-matched Scripture and a prayer written by another believer who has faced similar feelings, then contribute a prayer for someone else — creating an ongoing, anonymous chain of mutual encouragement. Features also include daily prayer reminders, spiritual journey insights and quick access to Scripture.
The device is waterproof, available in multiple sizes, and requires no subscription for core functions, according to a company statement.
“Today represents a major step forward in how we think about faith in a digital world,” said Henry Costa, founder of Glorify. “Uniting with Confidein expands Glorify from a single product to a more connected experience that supports people throughout their day, and helps make faith a consistent, lived practice across products, devices, and daily experiences. We now have a holistic offering to help our community focus on the health of their mind, body and soul.”
Backed by investors including a16z and Hillhouse Capital, the merger positions Glorify at the crossroads of the roughly $92 billion wearables market that includes smart watches and smart rings, which are considered a more compact, screen-less version of the popular watch devices.
Through partnerships with brands such as “The Chosen” and Great American Media, Glorify’s app has been download in over 192 countries, according to company statements.
“We chose a ring for very specific reasons,” said Confidein co-founder RJ Gan in a promo video for the product. “Unlike other wearables, a ring doesn't shout to the world. It whispers to you alone. We built a Christian smart ring that senses your emotions, reminds you to pray and connects you with the ones you love when they need it the most.”
The growing popularity of devotional wearable technology comes as fewer Americans identify as Christian. A Pew 2023-24 survey found that 62% of U.S. adults identify as Christian, down from 78% in 2007.
Meanwhile, Americans with no formal religious identity, popularly known as the “nones,” reached a record share of the population in 2025, according to Gallup data that show fewer than 50% of adults also report that religion is “very important” in their lives.
The findings, based on interviews with more than 13,000 U.S. adults across Gallup’s monthly 2025 surveys, show that the share of Americans identifying as “nones” reached a new high of 24%, up from 21% to 22% over the previous four years. The share of Americans identifying as “nones” has grown steadily from 2% in 1948 to its current record.
