Christian ministry leaders, organizations and media personalities honored the legacy of televangelist James Robison this week, reflecting on how he helped shape many of their careers.

The Texas-based televangelist and founder of LIFE Outreach International died Sunday at age 82. Robison’s ministry board confirmed his death in a Sunday statement, promising that the founder’s mission will continue.

“James devoted his life to sharing the Gospel and bringing hope, help and healing to those in need around the world,” the board wrote, adding that the organization would continue food and clean-water programs and broader outreach efforts.

Robison hosted “LIFE Today,” a long-running Christian television program. He helped build LIFE Outreach International into a ministry known for feeding programs, clean-water initiatives, disaster relief and outreach to vulnerable communities worldwide.

Evangelist Franklin Graham, the son of Billy Graham and Samaritan’s Purse CEO, told The Christian Post that he had known Robison for “many years.”

“He was a powerful preacher and a great encourager. I will miss him, but I’ll see him again in Heaven one day,” Graham said.
