Today, Christians around the world gather to celebrate the most momentous headline in history: He is risen!

And because Jesus is alive—resurrected from the dead—so too are we who believe in him. We were dead in our sin, but God in his rich mercy “made us alive together with Christ” and raised us up with him (Eph. 2:5).

In Christ, we’re alive in the fullest sense—not just temporarily enlivened like an ephemeral spring but permanently alive like an endless summer. In him, we’ve obtained an inheritance (1:11)—the inheritance of eternal life together with Christ and his church. Hallelujah!

I’ll be joyously celebrating this gospel on Easter but also later this week at the TGC25 conference. This Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, more than 7,000 people will gather in Indianapolis to unpack the nature of the gospel that makes us “alive together.” We’ll look at what the gospel is and what it does—how it saves us, how it shapes us, and how it sends us.

I can’t wait to listen to gospel-rich preaching and hear the voices of thousands of God’s people as we worship God for who he is and what he has done: making us a revived and united people, alive together in Christ.
